Banik mfg. 2023.

Banik MFG is an exploration of DIY punk alterations as folk craft, storytelling and a crucial element of identity formation and assertion. In this project, I am taking recycled clothing and refashioning it, using the ethos, techniques and aesthetics of my punk rock youth in conjunction with my growing garment fabrication skills. Through this project, I wish to create a spotlight on the raw beauty of DIY punk aesthetics and capture the spirit of the culture in the medium of apparel.
