Completed on a trip to Japan to visit my sister-in-law, this project was a daily sketching and journaling exercise to keep myself in creative shape while I was away from the studio. The rules of the project were to use a print object that I had held on to as the basis for a collage of found text and expressive compositional elements. This work expanded on ideas of recording space through found text and symbols that I began experimenting with in 2023 and has pushed the applications of this kind of typographic collage in my work.
